Kuih Talam Roti (Bread Pudding)
Ingredients
- 150g bread ( soak in water for 5 minutes )
- 100g plain flour
- 2 eggs
- 150g sugar
- 250ml coconut milk/evaporated milk
- 250ml water
- 1 level teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
- a few drops of yellow & green food colouring
Method
- Strain the soaked bread and squeeze out the excess liquid .
- Beat the eggs and sugar in a mixing bowl .
- Add in the vanilla essence , salt , bread mixture , and coconut milk / evaporated milk . Mix well .
- Add in the flour and mix well .
- Divide the mixture into 2 portions .
- 1 portion yellow colour and another portion green colour .
- Grease the baking tin with melted butter .
- Pour in the yellow portion into the baking tin and steam for 30 minutes .
- Then pour in the green portion and steam for another 30 minutes until cook .
- Allow to cool completely before cutting .
